The UP Office of the President held the traditional dinner in honor of the distinguished alumni of the UP Alumni Association (UPAA), August 20.
This year, the UPAA has recognized 33 distinguished alumni, one alumni chapter, and 13 families for living the ideals of the University.
The dinner also served as the venue where the UPAA officially and formally named the recipients of the Most Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Award, Distinguished Alumni Awards, Distinguished Service Award for an Alumni Chapter, and the Multi-Generation UP Alumni Family Award for 2019.
In a speech, UP President Danilo Concepcion underscored the rigorous process which the nominees went through to have been awarded by the UPAA.
Concepcion also gave a short report on the University, particularly on matters concerning infrastructure, instruction, and future plans.
For his part, UPAA President and UP Alumni Regent Reynaldo Laserna gave importance to the roles that UP alumni play in nation building.
