Hey, UP student! Did you know that the University is a melting pot of diverse cultural experiences? There’s nothing like the richness and variety of the UP Arts and Culture scene. Not sure where to start? In UP, there’s an abundance of live shows, events, plays, fora, and so much more! Each one is an experience on its own that tell the narratives of our history, politics, and society. In UP, you get to see how art is manifested in both traditional and modern forms – oh, a sight to see in this lifetime!

Klasmeyt Jane Vinculado and Dr. Sir Anril Tiatco, Director of the UP Diliman Information Office UP Diliman Office for Initiatives in Culture and the Arts takes us through the various art forms being explored inside the campus in lieu of the National Arts Month. Hear parts of the “poetry of the body” performance entitled Conflict: The Body in Revolt.

The Presidential Proclamation 680 declares February as UP Diliman Month. Klasmeyt Aimee, Klasmeyt Elay, and Klasmeyt Faye investigate the facts behind the UP Diliman Month that we celebrate every February of the year. Live plays, art sessions, exhibits, discussions, film festivals and the yearly Himigsikan competition are just some of the widely-celebrated activities that put the UP culture of Honor and Excellence into the spotlight.

The UP Office for Initiatives in Culture and the Arts in partnership with UP SPECA and UP SIKAT celebrates the month of February as the Diliman Festival of Culture and Arts in lieu of the National Arts Month. The College of Arts and Letters-based student organizations showcase their talents in the events and initiatives during the jam-packed month of February.

 

Pride Month
Gender Radyo (June 22, 2018)

In this episode, Prof. Det Neri and Trish Muli from BAHAGHARI Metro Manila takes us through the events that Pride Month has to offer. In partnership with the Diliman Gender Office, the improved Gender Sensitivity Training narrates the struggles andchallenges of the LGBTQ+ community and come up with a program catering to all walks of life with the goal of understanding and acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community.
