UP Diliman Chancellor Fidel Nemenzo on Thursday, August 6 urged the University’s stakeholders to continue practicing minimum health standards as COVID-19 infections continue to rise in Metro Manila.

While Nemenzo assured a review and recalibration of UP Diliman’s response to the pandemic, the Chancellor said that they “need everyone’s help and cooperation” in addressing the impacts of the ongoing public health crisis.

“Each one of us can help. We reiterate: Stay at home unless essential travel is needed. Avoid crowded places. Wear face masks and face shields properly and consistently. Practice physical distancing even at home… Wash hands frequently and for at least 20 seconds,” the Chancellor explained.

“The first line of defense is our self,” he added.

As of August 6, UP Diliman has a cumulative total of 139 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 77 recoveries, 7 deaths, and 55 active cases.
