The University of the Philippines Diliman University Student Electoral Board (USEB) released on Thursday, April 4 the calendar for the upcoming 2024 University Student Council (USC) elections.
The election period kicks off with the filing of certificates of candidacy (COCs) on April 18, continuing until April 25. Following this, the initial list of candidates will be released on May 2, with a deadline for protests against candidates set for May 6. The final list of candidates will then be disclosed on the same day, accompanied by discussions with party representatives regarding election guidelines and schedules.
On May 8, the USC elections will be officially launched, offering students the chance to engage with the candidates.
From May 8 to May 22, a series of election-related activities are scheduled, including traditional room-to-room campaigning and online campaign efforts, along with candidate participation in college convocations. Eligible voters can anticipate receiving communications from the USEB during this period.
The miting de avance, slated for May 22, is expected to provide a platform for candidates and voters to delve into key University issues.
Subsequently, the elections will span two days, from May 23 to May 24, with vote counting and winner announcements set for the evening of May 24.
Following this, the official announcement and transmittal of the election results, along with the proclamation of winners to the Chancellor, is scheduled for May 27.
The 2024 USC election calendar will conclude with a post-election protest window extending from May 27 to June 3.
