Starting today, March 8, aspiring students of the University of the Philippines (UP) can file their applications for the UP College Admission Test (UPCAT) 2024 which will be held on June 3-4, 2023 in over 100 testing centers nationwide.

Applicants have until April 15 to submit their Form 1 through the online portal (https://upcat2024online.up.edu.ph/) so they can take the exam in June.

“You are eligible to apply for first-year admission to UP through the UPCAT for [school year] 2024-2025 if you are a senior high school student expecting to graduate in 2024 in time for the opening of SY 2024-2025, or you are a senior high school graduate from 2023 or earlier provided you have not taken any college courses before the opening of SY 2024-2025,” the University said in its general information bulletin.

Additionally, applicants should have not completed their applications in the 2021-2023 editions of the UP College Admission (UPCA) and must have never taken the UPCAT to be eligible.

“Applicants must then revisit the portal in September 2023 to fill out their grades in Form 2B and submit the hard copy of their Form 137,” UP said.

“The early opening of applications for UPCAT 2024 and the holding of the UPCAT in June will ensure the timely release of results in light of the anticipated large increase in applications,” UP previously explained.

The decision for UPCAT’s return, after three rounds of UPCA due to the pandemic, was a result of a meeting of the President’s Advisory Council which is comprised of the University President, Vice Presidents, the Secretary of the University and the Board of Regents, the Chancellors of UP’s constituent universities, the Director of the UP Philippine General Hospital, and the Executive Director of the UP Bonifacio Global City Campus.

UP encouraged interested applicants to visit the online helpdesk for inquiries.
